Most dance schools/studios are very similar. They offer friendly teacher, a variety of classes, and a show at the end of the year. Does it really matter which studio you decide to attend? Yes!! There are 4 points that can make a difference in the quality of instruction each dancer receives, the amount of opportunities available to each dancer, and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved in a dance Program. Here are 4 things that every parent should consider before deciding on a dance school/studio for their child.

WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE CLASS?

If the class has fewer students in it, each child will receive more personalized attention, learn more and have more fun. With younger dancers it is easier for a teacher to maintain control over the class and make sure each student understands the concept are being missed.

WHAT TYPE OF DANCE FLOOR IS USED?

A vinyl composite “Marley” floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational and professional dance. Beachfront Dance School’s marley floor allows dancers to slide with a degree of controlled slip, but is not slippery so there is less risk of slips and falls.

CAN I GET IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE?

In many schools/studios the teacher of studio owner conducts classes and does the administration. By trying to do two jobs at once the class may suffer, as the teacher must use class time for customer service issues, or the school may have not customer service available if the teacher is in class. To have a good experience it is important to choose a studio that can assist you with details like costumes or schedules, even if a teacher is occupied in a class. Our studio has office staff on hand during all regular class times, so you can get immediate assistance.

ARE THERE PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE?

Beachfront Dance School offers all dancers an opportunity to perform and show case what they’ve learned at our Spring Performance and sometimes Christmas Show. There are also opportunities to perform at local events and NBA games. Additional performance opportunities are also available through Beachfront’s Studio Company.
